Travel advice for Gazipur

  • Resort prices rise at weekends: Resorts near Dhaka such as Joleswori and Dream Square charge higher day-package rates on weekends and holidays, so weekdays are cheaper.
  • Safari Park hours and extra tickets: Reports say the park is open 9 AM-5 PM and closed on Tuesdays, and most attractions inside need separate tickets beyond the gate fee. Confirm fees at safariparkgazipur.info.bd as reports differ (Tk 50-60 adult).
  • Village-style bhorta platters (Kapasia): Village restaurants around Kapasia are known for platters with dozens of bhortas (mashes with onion and spices), curries and pickles. Ask locally for a current favourite; one popular place reported in 2017 may have changed.
