  • Uchail Mosque (Shankarpasha Shahi Masjid): Single-storey four-domed brick mosque in Uchail Shankarpasha village, Rajiura Union, Habiganj Sadar, built by Shah Majlis Amin, a Majlis of the Bengal Sultanate under Alauddin Husain Shah. Inscriptions point to 1513 (Banglapedia dates it 1494-99). Historical, free entry

  • Bithangal Akhra (Baniachang) (বিথঙ্গল আখড়া): Akhra (Vaishnava prayer and training place) in Baniachang Upazila, listed among the upazila's heritage sites alongside the 1737-38 Puranbagh Rajbari and Bibir Dargah mosque. Religious, free entry
  • Murarband Dargah Sharif (মুড়াবন্দ দরগাহ শরীফ): Shrine complex in Chunarughat with the mazar of Syed Nasiruddin, described as the first Muslim ruler of Taraf, and his hujra khana. Religious, free entry

Travel advice for Habiganj

  • Gibbons and other primates: Satchari holds the critically endangered western hoolock gibbon, plus Phayre's leaf monkey, capped langur and others. Quiet early-morning walks give the best chance.
  • Reaching Satchari by bus: From Srimangal take a bus to Shaistaganj (about Tk 50), then to Chunarughat (about Tk 15), then a shared jeep to the park (about Tk 20). Buses thin out after about 5pm, so return early. A day taxi costs about Tk 3000.
  • Adi Gopal's Rasgulla (Habiganj town): Adi Gopal Mistanna Bhandar in Habiganj's commercial area is known for rasgulla (about 70-80 g each, Tk300/kg per Prothom Alo) and rasmalai. The owner has run it for over 40 years; locals also rate Joy Gopal's rasgulla.
  • Satchari entry fee: Entry to Satchari and Lawachara national parks was raised to Tk115 per person including VAT from May 2024; confirm the current rate at the gate.
