Kangal Harinath Memorial Museum (কাঙাল হরিনাথ স্মৃতি জাদুঘর): Museum in Kumarkhali town on Kangal Harinath (1833-1896), journalist, novelist and Baul songwriter, with about 168 exhibits and a library. His house, Kangal Kutir, with the MN Press that printed his paper Grambarta Prakashika, is a five-minute walk west. Museum, free entry
Shilaidaha Rabindra Kuthibari (শিলাইদহ কুঠিবাড়ি): Riverside manor in Shilaidaha village, Kumarkhali, where Rabindranath Tagore lived on and off while managing the family estates; a museum since 1986, with his photographs, belongings and boats. Museum, entry about 20 BDT, best time: Winter daytime; the three-day Tagore birthday festival is held here around 25 Baishakh (early May)

Restricted upper floor: A December 2025 report said a third floor was declared unsafe and closed to visitors, so follow staff instructions.
Opening days and fee: Closed Sundays and government holidays. Open 10AM-6PM in summer and 9AM-5PM in winter, with a break from 1PM to 1:30PM; on Fridays it closes from 12:30PM to 3PM. Tickets: Tk 20 for adults, Tk 5 for students, free for children under five, Tk 50 for SAARC visitors and Tk 100 for other foreigners.
Getting there from Kushtia: The Kuthibari is in Shilaidaha, Kumarkhali upazila, about 15-20 km from Kushtia town. Take an auto-rickshaw, CNG or easy bike from Chourhas in town; it costs about Tk 50 per person and takes 30-40 minutes.
Kulfi malai from Shilaidaha and Koya: Kushtia's kulfi malai is made mostly in Shilaidaha and neighbouring Koya, where women of the family cook the slow-boiled milk and men sell it by hawking. The Daily Star recommends it, along with tiler khaja, to Kuthibari visitors.
